Good afternoon,

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Harry for such tremendous coaching.
Our daughter was able to cycle on her own just 45 minutes into the session, such a big achievement!
We truly appreciate it.

Kindest regards

Absolutely worth every penny. We have a nervous daughter that was so scared.....took her 2 sessions to overcome a lot but she was cycling on her own by the end and she had fun doing it. She point blank refused to learn with us parents. 100% recommended. Harry is an absolute superstar and clearly enjoys it too.

What a great session. My 8 and 10 year old were given the time and patience to give them full confidence to cycle for the first time. Thank you so much
We had an excellent experience with Pedalwise for my son’s cycling lessons. Harry was absolutely fantastic.

He travelled all the way from Kent to Leighton Buzzard to teach my son, which truly shows his dedication and commitment. He arrived right on time, was very professional, and delivered the lessons extremely well. The indoor venue was safe, well organised, and perfect for building confidence.

Harry is such a kind, calm, and friendly person. His patience and thoughtful approach helped my son learn very quickly. He even took extra time to guide him outdoors once he was ready, which we really appreciated. That extra effort made a big difference.

Pedalwise is a trustworthy and reliable service, and the training was very well executed from start to finish.

I’m genuinely grateful to Harry for his hard work and dedication. I highly recommend him and Pedalwise to anyone looking for safe and effective cycling lessons.

Thank you so much, Harry!

Best £100 I ever spent!!!!! My son went from never being on a bike or scooter to being able to ride CONFIDENTLY in under 55 minutes! He didn't even need the full lesson. These guys are amazing. Even when he fell off (and I truly thought that would be the end of it) they got him back on with just a brief chat. Super encouraging with a system that clearly works. It was great to be able to watch it happen rather than be in the middle of it. Thanks for taking all the stress away from me.

Really great service. We were kept updated before the session on where it would be and what to expect. On the day itself, the instructor was kind and patient and our son was riding after 90 minutes. He’s now riding around with his friends confidently.

Kids Learn to Ride a Bike Classes Chertsey

Our Kids Learn to Ride a Bike Classes Chertsey are designed to help children learn in a positive, encouraging and pressure-free environment. Some children quickly understand balance and pedalling, while others need more time, reassurance or a different teaching approach before everything begins to click.

Whether your child has never ridden before or has struggled during previous attempts, our structured coaching helps them develop:

  • Balance and coordination
  • Smooth, controlled pedalling
  • Independent starts and stops
  • Confident steering
  • Safe braking techniques
  • Long-term riding confidence

Moving away from stabilisers is often only one part of the learning process. Children also need to understand how to control the bike, look ahead and feel confident riding independently. Our lessons focus on developing all of these skills in a calm and enjoyable way.

Chertsey’s recreation grounds and open spaces provide useful places for families to continue practising between lessons through short, positive riding sessions.

Whether your goal is cycling with your children, becoming more active or finally achieving something you have wanted to do for years, we can help you develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

Why Chertsey is a Great Place to Learn to Ride

Chertsey offers a useful mix of recreation grounds, riverside open spaces and access to the wider Surrey cycling network. This gives beginners suitable places to practise the fundamentals before progressing towards longer family rides and shared recreational routes.

Local places and cycling environments include:

  • Chertsey Recreation Ground
  • Chertsey Meads
  • Abbeyfields
  • Open spaces around Addlestone and Ottershaw
  • Riverside areas close to the River Thames
  • Quiet residential roads around Lyne and Thorpe
  • Shared-use routes through the wider Runnymede area
  • National Cycle Network Route 223 for more experienced riders

Chertsey Recreation Ground provides a spacious local setting where younger riders can practise balance, starting and stopping. Chertsey Meads also offers an attractive open environment beside the Thames, although families should always choose suitable areas and remain mindful of other people using the space.

Once riders have developed greater control and awareness, Chertsey’s position on the wider Surrey cycle network creates opportunities to explore routes towards Ottershaw, Woking and other nearby communities.

The best practice location will always depend on the rider’s current ability. Complete beginners usually benefit from a wide, quiet space, while more confident cyclists can gradually progress towards shared paths and longer routes.

Why Learn to Ride with Pedalwise

Patient Coaching That Builds Genuine Confidence

Learning to ride should be an exciting achievement, but repeated unsuccessful attempts can sometimes leave children or adults feeling nervous and frustrated. Pedalwise removes that pressure by breaking cycling into simple, manageable stages and helping every rider progress at a comfortable pace.

Our instructors understand that confidence comes before ability. Once riders begin to relax and trust their own balance, skills such as pedalling, steering and braking often improve much more quickly.

We also provide the reassurance of the Pedalwise Guarantee. If a rider does not achieve Level 1 during their first lesson, they can return for another lesson free of charge until they do.

This means riders can concentrate on learning without worrying about being rushed or needing to complete every stage within one session.

Helping Chertsey Families Enjoy Cycling Together

Learning to ride opens the door to much more than a single lesson. It creates opportunities for healthier weekends, greater independence and enjoyable family adventures throughout Surrey.

Whether your ambition is practising locally, enjoying riverside surroundings or progressing towards longer rides through Runnymede, Pedalwise provides the practical skills and confidence needed to get started.

Our aim is not simply to help someone stay upright on two wheels. It is to help them become a relaxed, capable cyclist who can enjoy riding for years to come.
